Redeemer wrapped up the first half of the 2018-2019 volleyball season last week and now enters the break, winners of 4 of their last 5. The Royals won't resume league play until January 11th, 2019.
The Men's Volleyball team finishes the semester with a 6-3 record, ranked #3 in the Province and #12 in Canada. Their final win of the semester, Wednesday against the Conestoga Condors (3-1), secured 3rd place for Redeemer in the OCAA West heading into January.
While the men's team will sit idle when it comes to league competition, they will still see lots of competitive play before they hit the court January 11th. With about a month and a half in-between their match against Conestoga and their 2019 opener against Boreal, the Royals will remain active to avoid rust.
Redeemer will travel to Montreal between Christmas an New Years, for non-conference matches against RSEQ opponents in Quebec. The Royals will face the Griffons from Cegep de L'Outaouais, the #9 ranked team in the Country, as well as the Cheminots from Cegep Saint-Jerome. Redeemer will also visit the 6-2 OCAA East team La Cite Coyotes.
After returning from Montreal, the Royals will travel to Niagara College for an Invitational tournament January 5th-6th.
When the Royals return to action in January, Redeemer will open with a road trip to Sudbury against the Boreal Vipers (January 11th) and the Cambrian Golden Shield (January 12th). The Royals swept the first round against both the Vipers and Shield 3-0.
