The Redeemer Royals Women's Soccer team remained winless on the season after a 1-0 defeat Saturday at the hands of the Mohawk Mountaineers.
Mohawk entered the match undefeated against the Royals with an 8-0-2 record in their last 10. While the results have been lopsided in Mohawk's favor, the games have become increasingly balanced. After Saturdays' result, only 2 goals have separated the teams in their last 3 matches.
Saturday's match was anyone's to win. An even match throughout, both teams were solid defensively as the game was at a stalemate until the final minute. Mohawk's Sam Mathieu scored her first of the season in the 90th minute as Mohawk took the win and improved their record to 5-2.
After a tough stretch against some of the top competition in the Province,
Lilly Brown rebounded Saturday against the Mountaineers,with a strong game. Conceding just once in the final seconds of the match, Brown kept the Royals in the contest making 5 saves against Mohawk.
After being decimated with injuries to start the season, Redeemer fielded their full starting lineup Saturday for the first time in 2019-2020. Redeemer saw the return of Indoor Soccer MVP

Maya Torrie. The Royals will look to round out the regular season with a number of strong games before their OCAA quarterfinal match on October 23rd.
Redeemer will host their final league home game of the season on Thursday before the Thanksgiving break. The Royals will welcome the Lambton Lions for a match kicking off at 4pm. Lambton has an 0-6-1 record.
Redeemer has a 5-4-1 record against the Lions in their last 10 matches. The Royals won both matches last season and have defeated the Lions in 4 of the last 6.
