The Redeemer Royals will enter the OCAA postseason as the 3rd place team in the OCAA West. The Royals and Knights battled it out at Redeemer Saturday, with the winner claiming 3rd and the loser settling for 4th. Redeemer defeated the Knights 3-1 in their final league game of 2019.
After dropping the first set 25-21, the Royals rallied to win the next three sets, winning the match 3-1. Set scores were 25-22, 25-18, 25-22.
Entering the match, the Royals had not defeated the Knights yet this season. Redeemer fell to Niagara on November 16th, 3-2 on the road, and also lost to the Knights in tournament action after the Christmas Break.
The Royals had a balanced attack in Saturday's match.

Brayden Stoffers, and
Brady De Boer all had double-digit points in the win. Redeemer's
Jason Wildeboer was also stellar in the match, contributing 32 assists and adding 9 total points.
Saturday's match was the final league match for graduating athlete's
Reuben Middel and
Brady De Boer. Unfortunately Middel missed the match due to family circumstances. Both Middel and DeBoer will have one more home game as they hit the court Saturday in Redeemer playoff crossover.
The Royals will now host a home playoff game with the winner advancing to the OCAA Provincial Championship. The Championship gets underway on Thursday February 21 at Humber College. Redeemer will square off against the George Brown Huskies in their playoff crossover match. Redeemer will host the game Saturday at 1pm.
The George Brown Huskies enter Saturday's match as the 6th place team from the OCAA East. The Huskies finished the season with a 10-8 record. George Brown is 5-4 on the road this season while the Royals are 6-3 at home. The last time the Royals faced the George Brown Huskies was at last year's OCAA Provincial Championship at Georgian College. Redeemer bounced the Huskies 3-1 in the Championship quarterfinal.
