The Royals hosted the Mohawk Mountaineers Friday night as the Hamilton rivals battled for the final time this regular season.
Redeemer opened up the 2019-2020 season on October 26th at Mohawk, splitting with the Mountaineers as the Redeemer Men's team won (3-1) and the Women's team lost (3-0). This past Friday night, Redeemer had the turn to host, however the results remained the same. First up, Redeemer's women's team fell to the Mountaineers 3-0. In the Men's match, the Royals returned the favour, sweeping the Mohawk Men.
Despite the loss for the Women, three Royals finished with double-digit points. Redeemer's Abby Sluys led the team with 13 total points. Jasmyn Stoffers added 11 points while Alena Reenders had 10.
Set scores in the match were 25-18, 25-23, 25-21. The loss keeps the Royals in 6th place in the OCAA West with a 7-8 record.
After a big win on the road the previous weekend against the Conestoga Condors, Redeemer's Men's team took care of business Friday night sweeping away the Mountaineers. After a tight first set in which the Royals won 28-26, the Royals cruised to 25-18 and 25-13 wins in the final two sets.

Brayden Stoffers also had double-digit points for Redeemer with 13.
Redeemer will hit the road on Thursday to NIagara to battle the Knights before returning home for a weekend matchup against the St. Clair Saints on Saturday.
