Late match rally leads Royals men's volleyball over St. Clair 3-2

ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer University men's volleyball team improved to 3-2 in the OCAA West as they defeated the St. Clair Saints 3-2 in front of a hometown crowd of 450 at the Redeemer Athletic Centre Friday night.
Redeemer took set one 29-27, before St. Clair rallied taking sets two and three by scores of 26-24 and 25-23. The Royals evened the match 2-2 winning the fourth set 25-17 and took the fifth and deciding set by the score of 15-13.
The Royals had a balanced offense led by third year
Brett Jenkins (Peterborough, ON) who recorded the double-double adding 16 kills and 18 digs. Fifth year
William Winkelhorst (Newcastle, ON) contributed with 12 kills and seven digs while first year
Derick Breukelman (Burlington, ON) registered 11 kills, five digs and four blocks. Rounding out the offensive leaders was second year
Caleb Joosse (Peterborough, ON) who added nine kills, four digs and two blocks.

Andrew Van Dyke (Guelph, ON) chipped in with a career high 47 assists and second year libero
Carsen Grim (Langley, BC) contributed with 13 digs in the victory.
Redeemer finished the night with a .294 hitting percentage adding 55 kills with 23 errors on 109 attempts. St. Clair collected 49 kills with 27 errors on 114 attempts for a .193 hitting efficiency.
The Royals return to action November 16th when they are on the road versus Sheridan Bruins. The next home action is November 19th at 3pm when they host the Niagara Knights.
