Balanced offense leads Royals women's basketball over Sheridan 84-48

ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer University women's basketball team defeated the Sheridan Bruins by the score of 84-48 Saturday night at the Redeemer Athletic Centre.
The Royals jumped out to an early 17-2 in the opening five minutes of the first quarter. Sheridan would answer back with a 23-8 run of their own and cut the lead to one 26-25 with three minutes left in the second quarter. Redeemer closed out the quarter with a 12-3 run leading 38-28 at the half.
Redeemer outscored the Bruins 20-9 in the third quarter, leading by as many as 21 points, on route to their second win of the regular season and a 4-2 record overall.
The Royals had all five starters in double figures led by senior
Jessica Angelini (Hamilton, ON) who registered 20 points, including 6-for-12 from beyond the arc. She also finished with seven rebounds, three steals and two assists. With her performance she moves into 10th all-time in Redeemer scoring with 481 career points. She also moved into a tie with for 10th all-time in career assists (71).
Second year
Karyn TeBrake (Ottawa, ON) and first year
Julia Stayshyn (Dundas, ON) both contributed with 13 points each. Stayshyn also recorded 12 rebounds for the double-double.
Serena Vitello (Hamilton, ON) added 12 points going 5-for-8 from the field while first year
Talia Vreugdenhil (Frankford, ON) chipped in with 10 points and 12 boards for the double-double.Â
For the game, Redeemer shot 36.6% from the field going 30-for-82, including 13-for-41 (31.7%) from three-point range. Sheridan was held to just 27.6% (21-for-76) from the field and 10.0% (2-for-20) from beyond the arc.
