After a pair of back-to-back losses, the Redeemer Women's Volleyball team is back in the win column. Redeemer hosted the Conestoga Condors Tuesday night in their first home game since February 11.
The Royals took the first set of the match 25-17, before the Condors made things interesting, taking the 2nd set 25-22. The Condors looked like they may take the third set as well but the Royals hung around and made a late-game push to take the set 26-24. The Royals started the fourth set on the receiving end of a 0-4 run by the Condors but an amazing defensive play by Redeemer's Erica Bultje allowed the Royals to steal back a crucial point and gain the energy needed to take the 4th set 25-16.
The Royals record improves to 2-4 on the season with a weekend of important games ahead.
Three Royals hit double-digit points on Tuesday with Jasmyn Stoffers leading the way. Stoffers had a game-high 16 points from 13 Kills, 1 Ace, and 2 blocks. Abby Sluys and Victoria Pancucci added 13 and 11 points respectively.
The Royals will host the Fanshawe Falcons on Friday night and then quickly turn around to travel to Niagara to take on the Knights on Saturday afternoon. The Royals will also play Sheridan on Monday, March 7 in a re-scheduled game of previously in the season.
