ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer women's volleyball team opened the second half of the OCAA regular season with a 3-0 victory over the Mohawk Mountaineers Wednesday night at the Redeemer Athletic Centre.
Leading the Royals offense was second year
Rachel Annett (Melbourne, ON) who recorded 10 kills and eight digs, three aces. First year
Kate DeJong (St. Thomas, ON) added five kills while first year
Avery Surette (Barrie, ON) (4 kills, 6 digs, 2 aces), second year
Alyson Stolte (Smithers, BC) (4 kills, 4 aces) and fifth year
Victoria Pancucci (Stoney Creek,ON) (4 kills) rounded out the leaders. Second year setter
Brooklyn Van Rooyen (Acheson, AB) added 20 assists in the victory.
Mohawk was led by Rachel Vanderwal and Irene Jaramillo who chipped in with six and five kills respectively. Libero Anika Gatto led all players with 11 digs.Â
For the match, Redeemer recorded 32 kills with 11 errors on 73 attempts for a .288 hitting percentage. Mohawk collected 27 kills with 15 errors on 74 attempts for a .162 percentage. Â
The Royals return to action Saturday afternoon when they take on the Niagara College Knights at 3pm on the road.
