Welland, ON - The Redeemer University men's volleyball team (7-4 OCAA) dropped a 3-1 decision to the Niagara College Knights (7-4 OCAA) Saturday afternoon on the road.
Niagara won game one by the score of 25-23. In game two, Redeemer rallied from six points down to win 27-25. The Knights took games three and four 25-19 and 25-20, to sweep the season series 2-0.
Leading the Royals was third year Brett Jenkins (Peterborough ON) who recorded 13 kills and 12 digs for the double double. Fourth-year William Winkelhorst (Newcastle ON) registered seven kills. While second year libero Carsen Grim (Langley, BC) registered 15 digs to move into third all-time single-season digs with 150.Â
For the match, Redeemer collected 31 kills with 11 errors on 100 attempts for a .200 hitting percentage. Niagara hit .221 finishing with 36 kills and 17 errors on 86 attempts.
The Royals next action is next weekend January 20th and 21st when they host the Cambrian Golden Shield on Friday and Boreal Vipers on the Saturday at the Redeemer Athletic Centre.
