Redeemer womens basketball closes out preseason with 71-57 victory over Seneca

ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer University women's basketball team defeated the Seneca College Sting by the score of 71-57 Saturday night at the Redeemer Athletic Centre.
Redeemer trailed by one after the opening 10 minutes, 15-14, and outscored Seneca 21-12 in the second quarter to take a 35-27 lead at the half. In the third quarter, Redeemer went on a 10-2 run, to go up as many as 10Â points, on route to their second preseason victory vs OCAA opponents.
The Royals had two players in double figures, led by
Jessica Angelini who finished with a game high 21 points including seven three pointers.
Talia Vreugdenhil contributed with fifteen points while
Karyn TeBrake (9 points),
Katie Lau (8 points) and
Kayla Simmonds (7 points) rounded out the Royals leaders.
Redeemer opens the OCAA regular season on the road October 20th and 21st when they travel west to take on St. Clair College and Lambton College.
