ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer University men's basketball team ended the Super Saturday with an electric come from behind 89-85 victory over the No.9 nationally ranked Mohawk Mountaineers in front of a capacity crowd at the Redeemer Athletic Centre.
Prior to the game, the Royals recognized former head coach or his 100th career victory in the OCAA.
Redeemer found themselves down early 12-2 to start the contest. After trailing 69-54 at the half, the Royals offense came alive outscoring Mohawk 35-16 in the final frame, on route to the four point victory.
The Royals had three players in double digits, led by
Alex Naovarath who registered a career high 28 points while adding five rebounds and four assists.
Robert Mannella contributed with 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists while
Adam Pavlik added 10 points and six rebounds.
For the game, the Royals shot 48.5% (32-66) from the field, 45.5% (5-11) from long range and 83.3% (20-24) from the free throw line. Mohawk went 27-65 (41.5%) from the floor, 4-23 (17.4) from three point land and 27-31 (87.1%) from the charity stripe.
