TORONTO, ON - The Redeemer University women's volleyball dropped a 3-0 decision (17-25, 15-25, 22-25) to the No. 2 seed Seneca Sting in the opening round of the OCAA playoffs. With the loss the Royals 2022-23 season comes to an end after finishing the regular season with an 8-10 conference record.
Leading the Royals was second year
Rachel Annett (Melbourne, ON) who recorded seven kills and five digs. First year
Joelle Lammers (Lynden, ON) added five kills, one block and one ace while first year
Avery Surette (Barrie, ON), fifth year
Victoria Pancucci (Stoney Crek, ON) and second year Brooklyn Van Rootyen (Acheson, AB) collected three kills each in the loss. Van Rooyen also finished with 15 assists.
Seneca was led by Ngameni Davina who registered 14 kills and 16 digs in the victory.
The Royals added just 26 kills with 12 errors on 76 attempts for a .184 hitting percentage. Seneca hit .385 adding 38 kills with just three errors on 91 attempts.
