Redeemer Women's Soccer shutout Surge 3-0

Ancaster, ON - The Redeemer University Women's Soccer team defeated the St. Lawrence College Surge by the score of 3-0 Saturday afternoon at home.
In the first half, second year
Kendra Sieders opened the scoring for Redeemer with a powerful strike at the 13:38 mark. Second year
Alyssa Simpson provided a skillful assist for her first point of the season.
At the 34:41 mark, third year
Esther DeHaan doubled Redeemer's lead with an incredible goal for her second of the season. Once again, Simpson proved instrumental in the play, providing another well-timed assist.
As the match progressed, Redeemer continued to put pressure on up front. In the 86th minute, Royals second year midfielder
Emily Walraven sealed the victory, finding the back of the net with a clinical finish. DeHaan assisted on the goal, giving her six points on the season.
Royals fifth year starter
Lilly Brown registered seven saves for the shutout.
The Royals return to action August 30th when they take on the Fleming College Knights on the road.
