Royals men's soccer rallies to defeat Durham 2-1

ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer University men's soccer team rallied to defeat the Durham College Lords by the score of 2-1 Saturday night at home.
Durham opened 6th minutes into the first half as Isaiah Wisdom beat Royals first year starter
Matthew Derks.
In the second half, Redeemer came out on all cylinders controlling the play. In the 56th minute, Gabe Schilke setup
Hunter Packalen who registered his third goal on his past two games to even the score 1-1.
Four minutes later in the 60th minute,
Brendan Vanderkruk would find the foot of first year
Kieran Wilson who buried a shot past Durham goalkeeper Luigi German-Ribon to put the Royals up 2-1.

Mycah Winsor and James Goobie were solid throughout the contest. In goal, Derks finishing with five saves for his third win of the season.
Redeemer finished with 13 shots, five on goal, while Durham collected 12 shots, six on goal.
The Royals open the OCAA regular season next Saturday, Sept. 9 when they host the defending National Champion Humber Hawks at David Mantel Field.
