Royals women's soccer drops 2-1 decision to No. 15 ranked Mohawk

HAMILTON, ON - The Redeemer University women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to the Mohawk Mountaineers Wednesday night at Tim Horton's Field. With the loss, the Royals fall to 2-1-3 on the season.

Mohawk opened the scoring 21 minutes into the opening half as Jaiden Morgan setup Isabelle Udovc for her second goal of the season.

In the 50th, Mohawk's Jaiden Morgan would win a foot race and beat Redeemer starter Lilly Brown for her OCAA West leading 7th goal of the season. Last week she was named CCAA Athlete of the Week registering five goals and two assists.

Redeemer got on the board in the 87th minute, as third year Ivana Kanisek hit one from 30 yards out over the hands of Mohawk goalkeeper Samantha DeHaan.

Late in the second half, the Badgers pushed for the equalizer but came up short for their first loss of the regular season.

In goal, Brown recorded nine saves in the loss while the Mountaineers DeHaan collected seven for her fourth win of the regular season.

Redeemer returns to action October 3rd when they host the Conestoga Condors in a key OCAA West matchup. Game time is scheduled for 6pm.
