Royals Inch Closer to Clinching Playoffs

ANCASTER, ON   The Conestoga Condors entered the den for an OCAA West Division match-up. A playoff position was on the line as the Royals and Condors sit 8th and 9th respectively.

The Royals took control early in the match with no intention of letting it slip. Mia Palango led the way for the Royals with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Palango has had the hot hand for Royals this semester often taking charge in multiple statistical categories. The veteran forward is tenacious on defense every night and has been putting in work on the offensive side.

Joining Palango cleaning the glass was Talia Vreugdenhil with a game-high 12 rebounds.

Four Royals scored double-digit points in tonight's clash, Palango (15), Sydney Drain (14), Jessica Angelini (14), and Kayla Simmonds (11).

Despite a third-quarter surge by the Condors, the Royals held them off to close the game with a 78-58 win. Redeemer inches their way closer to clinching the 8th and final playoff position in the OCAA West. The Royals seek to jump into 7th place with a win against the Fanshawe Falcons on February 1, 2024.
