LONDON,ON Redeemer women's basketball captured a critical road victory in London on Thursday evening. The Royals captured the "W" in their first match-up against the Falcons with a 52-50 finish.
Entering Thursdays match the Royals (4-9) sat one game behind the Falcons (5-9) in the OCAA West standings. With the Royals victory their playoff seeding imporves as they will now win a possible tie-break between them and the Falcons.
Leading the way for the Royals in Thursdays clash was second year forward
Talia Vreugdenhil who posted a uncontainable 17 points and 12 rebounds. Vreugdenhil wa not the only Double-Double performance of the night as
Mia Palango also recorded 10 points and 14 rebounds. This dynamic duo of glass-cleaning and point scoring rallied the Royals to a dominant 19 point win. Despite two sensational performances, the victory over the Falcons was a team win demonstrated by five Royals posting double digit scoring.
