ANCASTER, ON.  Redeemer Royals men's soccer travelled to Oakville, ON to face the Sheridan Bruins on Saturday afternoon. The Royals sat mid-pack entering the match while the Bruins were in second place. The late-season match-up brings critical post-season influence. The Royals and Bruins desperately need every point they can gather in the National powerhouse conference of the OCAA West.

Redeemer stepped up to the occasion and struck first. Royals captain, Hunter Packalen opened the scoring on Saturday afternoon on a scramble in the box off a corner kick.

After forty-five minutes of action, the Royals had a one-nil lead.

The nationally ranked Bruins were determined to equal the score. Bruins midfielder Zion Peters levelled the score at one in the fifty-fifth minute.

Saturday's match ended in a draw 1-1 despite Redeemer's multiple opportunities in the second half of play. The Royals look to build off of this strong performance and carry momentum into the postseason.

Redeemer will visit the Humber Hawks midweek and then host cross-town Rival, Mohawk Mountaineers next Saturday. Saturday's match is soccer senior night, where we will have a short presentation to honour our graduating soccer athletes.

Royals fans will certainly want to be on campus for Saturday's matches. Women kick off at noon and the Men kick off at 2:00.

R U Royal Family, our Royals need your support to help close out the season, see you there.
