Royals Defeat Condors 3-1 in the Den

ANCASTER, ON.

Redeemer University hosted the Conestoga Condors Saturday afternoon for an OCAA match-up. Conestoga entered Saturday's match within 0 and 6 record, the Royals were two and three coming off of a three set lost to the Humber Hawks.

First set action got underway and the Royals were dominant from the first whistle. Led by Avery Surette the Royals cruised two nothing lead. The first two sets of the match saw the Royals in complete control. Redeemer had a .250 hitting percentage in the first set and a .407 hitting percentage in the second set.

Backing up the Redeemer hitting efficiency was there dominance on the service line led by outside hitter Rachel Annett who posted 10 service aces on the match.

The Conestoga Condors had a heroic comeback in the third set to steal the set from the Royals 27-25 and stay alive. Redeemer had two match point opportunities and failed to capitalize and seal the game.

The Royals were not going to let Conestoga get back into the game and came out firing in the fourth set. Running away with a 25-9 fourth set victory the Royals closed out Saturday afternoon's match. Leading the Royals yet again was Avery Surette, the third year outside posted 18 kills and 7 digs while having a hitting percentage of .429. Surette has had a phenomenal start to the year being named the CCAA athlete of the week last week.

Following alongside Surette was Rachel Annett who added 10 aces on the match. The Royals improved to 3-3 on the year and face the Niagara Knights Wednesday November 13th at 6:00 PM for their next match.
