KITCHENER, ON. Redeemer Men's Volleyball (5-7) travelled to Kitchener for a mid-week match against the Conestoga Condors (8-5). Last time out Redeemer fell to the Condors 3-1 at Redeemer. The Royals entered Wednesday night eager to settle the score as the regular season winds down.
Wednesday night did not play out as the Royals had drawn up. Redeemer fell behind early to the tough Conestoga opponent. Set number one concluded 25-12 in favour of the Condors.
Following the Royals tough opening set, Redeemer established their game plan and began to repeat the rewards. Despite the Royals success in set two, Conestoga was able to snatch it from them and take a 2-0 lead into set three.
The Condors had no desire to let the Royals back into Wednesday's match and secured the straight-set victory 25-21 in the third set.
Simon Bourne continues to turn heads in his sophomore season. The second-year outside led the Royals with 12 points, hitting .308%.
The Royals were without veteran star
Davis Young for the second match in a row. The super senior setters will hope to be back in the lineup Saturday as the Royals face cross-town rivals the Mohawk Mountaineers.
