HAMILTON, ON. Redeemer Men's Volleyball faced off against cross-town rival Mohawk Mountaineers. The Royals and Mountaineers are battling for playoff seeding as the season winds down. The team that reigns victorious in Saturday's match will put themselves in an excellent position with few games remaining.
Mohawk opened the match strong and stormed to a first-set victory 25-18. Redeemer struggled to attack efficiently and the Mountaineers capitalized on the opportunity.
Redeemer bounced back and led for the majority of the second set. Despite being in the driver's seat for ninety percent of the set, Mohawk struck late and stole the second set 26-24.
Trailing two sets to zero the Royals needed to make a change. Redeemer recorded their most efficient attacking set of the match in set number three, however, it was not enough to knock off the Mountaineers. Redeemer dropped set three to Mohawk 25-22.
The key to Mohawk's success was their ability to reduce their attacking errors. Mohawk's hitting percentage was .254 compared to Redeemer's .141.

The Royals will look to bounce back next weekend when they host the Cambrian Shield.
