ANCASTER, ON. The Redeemer Royals Women's Volleyball team had no trouble at home, sweeping the Boreal Vipers 3-0 with set scores of 25-12, 25-13, and 25-8. The Royals dominated from the first serve to the final whistle, showcasing their powerful serving and efficient offense in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.
Redeemer came out with strong energy in the opening set, quickly building a 25-12 win. Their serving was a major weapon, as they piled up 21 service aces throughout the match.
Avery Surette was the standout from the start, contributing several aces and making it clear that she was going to be a problem for the Vipers all night. Redeemer's defense was also tight, keeping Boreal from finding any rhythm or creating significant opportunities. The Royals controlled the tempo from the first point and never looked back.
The second set saw more of the same as the Royals continued to dominate, finishing with a 25-13 win. Boreal had brief moments where they tried to regroup, but Redeemer's offense was too balanced and powerful. Surette stayed on fire, consistently scoring points and hitting at a strong .364%. She played a pivotal role in keeping the Vipers off balance, Surette scored a game-high 13 points in only two sets.
By the third set, the Royals were clicking on all cylinders, closing it out with a dominant 25-8 victory. The Vipers had no answers for Redeemer's relentless attack, and the home crowd cheered them on as they wrapped up the match in style.
Saturday's match was also Senior Night. The Royals celebrated three Women's volleyball graduating athletes.
