LONDON, ON. — The Redeemer University Royals men's soccer team closed out their regular season on Saturday afternoon with a massive 2–1 road win over the Fanshawe Falcons, a result that keeps the Royals in seventh place in the OCAA West Division and builds strong momentum heading into the playoffs.

Redeemer opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, as Leandro Alves found the back of the net off a setup from Ethan Smith. Fanshawe equalized in the 40th minute, sending the match into halftime tied 1–1.

With the game on the line, Aidan Lugtigheid delivered the decisive moment in the 88th minute, scoring the match-winner to give the Royals a crucial three points. Redeemer's defence held strong to close out the victory.

While the Royals had already secured a playoff berth, the win ensures a more favourable seventh-place finish in the competitive OCAA West. Redeemer will now travel to face the #2 seed from the OCAA East Division in the opening round of the OCAA playoffs.

The first-round playoff match is set for Wednesday, October 15th, with kickoff time and location to be announced once East Division standings are finalized.
