KISSIMMEE, FL - The Redeemer Royals battled to the final whistle against the No. 2–ranked Southwestern Christian Eagles on Tuesday afternoon, ultimately falling 1–0 after a stunning late goal broke the deadlock at the NCCAA Division I National Championships in Kissimmee, Florida.
With under a minute left in regulation, Southwestern Christian produced a moment of brilliance to decide the match. An Eagles attacker received the ball near the edge of the box and struck a curling shot that glanced off the underside of the bar and in, leaving the Royals with no time to respond.
Redeemer continues play at the National Championships on Thursday at 2:30 p.m., taking on Wayland Baptist in their final game of the tournament.
