LONDON, ON. The Redeemer Royals men's volleyball team closed out their regular season with a tough loss to the Fanshawe Falcons, who swept the match 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-13). It was a challenging night for the Royals, who couldn't get things going against a strong Falcons squad that controlled the match from start to finish.
The first set saw Fanshawe take early control, using a fast-paced offense to overwhelm Redeemer. The Royals struggled to find their rhythm, dropping the set 25-18.
Set two was a bit closer, as Redeemer showed signs of fighting back. They managed to stay competitive, but Fanshawe's solid defense kept the Royals at bay, winning 25-20. In set three, Fanshawe took over, finishing off the match with a dominant 25-13 win. It was a tough end for Redeemer, who couldn't quite recover from the early deficit and struggled to get anything going offensively.
Despite the result, there were some bright spots for the Royals. Outside hitter Jared Prinsloo had a standout performance, leading the team with 10 points and hitting an impressive .368%. He also contributed defensively with 6 digs, showing his value on both sides of the court.
With the regular season now wrapped up, the Royals await their first round match up to be determined. Potential opponents for the Royals include Centennial or Canadore. The first round of OCAA Playoffs takes place next weekend.
