STONEY CREEK, ON - The Redeemer Royals put together a complete performance on home ice, skating past Canisius by a 7–3 final behind a dominant offensive showing and a strong night in goal.
Redeemer wasted little time setting the tone, as Chase Browne opened the scoring and then struck again to give the Royals an early two-goal cushion. Canisius responded to cut the lead in half, but the Royals answered right back. On the man advantage, Ethan Smith ripped a shot past the goaltender to restore momentum and send Redeemer into the first intermission ahead 3–1.
Canisius came out with urgency to start the second period, scoring less than a minute in to make it a one-goal game once again. That was as close as it would get. The Royals pushed back with two unanswered goals, including Browne's third of the night to complete the hat trick. After forty minutes, Redeemer had built a 6–3 lead and firmly controlled the pace of play.
The third period saw the Royals protect their advantage while continuing to pressure offensively. Browne put an exclamation point on his standout night late in the frame, burying his fourth goal of the game to seal the 7–3 victory.
Discipline played a key role throughout the contest, as Canisius spent significant time in the penalty box. Those opportunities allowed Redeemer to consistently generate offense on the power play, highlighted by Smith's first-period marker.
Between the pipes, Easton Hildebrand turned in a steady performance, making timely saves to shut down Canisius pushes and earn the win for the Royals.
With a balanced effort, special teams success, and a memorable four-goal performance from Browne, Redeemer delivered an impressive home-ice victory over Canisius.
