Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Royals Drop Game on the Road to Falcons

LONDON, ON - The Redeemer Royals men's basketball team dropped an 83–69 decision on the road against the Fanshawe Falcons on Saturday night in London.

Redeemer came out strong in the opening quarter, leading for much of the early stages as Fanshawe struggled to find an offensive rhythm. However, the Falcons found their footing as the half progressed, using a strong second quarter to open up a 16-point advantage by halftime.

The Royals made life difficult for Fanshawe defensively, forcing an impressive 37 turnovers over the course of the game. Despite the defensive pressure, Redeemer was unable to fully capitalize, as rebounding proved to be a decisive factor. Fanshawe controlled the glass, winning the rebounding battle 56–34 and generating crucial second-chance opportunities.

Thomaz Barbosa led the Royals offensively, matching his career high with 22 points while adding seven rebounds and three steals in a strong all-around performance. Redeemer received balanced scoring support, with Armeen Fazelipour and Jason Usuomon each contributing 14 points, and Gabriel Della Foresta adding 12.

The Royals were short-handed for the matchup, operating with just an eight-man rotation, which tested their depth against a physical Fanshawe side.

Despite the loss, Redeemer's defensive effort and balanced scoring showed resilience as the team continues conference play.
