Lazenby Sets Fourth New Career High this Semester, Royals Fall to Hawks

ETOBICOKE, ON - The Redeemer Royals women's basketball team faced a difficult road challenge on Tuesday night, visiting a Humber Hawks squad riding a six-game win streak and coming off a marquee win over previously undefeated Mohawk.

Humber came out strong, opening the game with an early 10-point advantage in the first quarter. The Royals settled in quickly and matched the Hawks' pace for the remainder of the frame, preventing the game from getting out of hand.

Redeemer responded with a strong start to the second quarter, cutting the deficit to just four points midway through the period. Humber found another gear late in the half, rebuilding its double-digit lead heading into the break.

The Hawks took control after halftime, using their depth and tempo to pull away in the third quarter and maintain control through the final frame, earning an 85–61 victory.

Despite the result, Sydney Lazenby continued her standout second semester, setting her fourth new career high in less than a month. The Royals guard finished with 27 points, surpassing previous career-best marks of 20 (Jan. 14), 22 (Jan. 17), and 25 (Jan. 28). Ava Froese anchored the Royals on the glass, finishing with 14 rebounds to tie her career high.

The Royals will look to regroup and build on their early-game execution as conference play continues.
