STONEY CREEK, ON - It was a memorable Senior Night at the rink as the Redeemer Royals honoured five graduating players and capped the evening with a convincing 7–2 victory over the St. Bonaventure Bonnies.
Prior to puck drop, the Royals recognized seniors
Jake Voskamp,
Carson Murison,
Solomon Zandberg, Nick Vanderwier, and
Sam Pereira for their commitment and contributions to the program. The group was celebrated by teammates, coaches, and fans before helping set the tone for a strong team performance.
The opening period was scoreless, with neither side able to find the back of the net. Despite the lack of scoring, Redeemer controlled much of the play, generating consistent offensive pressure and outshooting the Bonnies.
St. Bonaventure struck first early in the second period, briefly quieting the home crowd. The response from the Royals was immediate. Less than a minute later,
Tucker Copeland buried the equalizer, finishing a play set up by
Noah Wildeboer to swing momentum back in Redeemer's favour.
That goal opened the floodgates. Wildeboer continued his standout night by scoring two of his own in the second period, leading a dominant stretch that saw the Royals build a commanding 5–1 lead heading into the third.
Redeemer showed no signs of slowing down in the final frame, adding two more goals to put the game out of reach. The Royals closed out the night with a 7–2 win, delivering a fitting finish to Senior Night in front of the home crowd.
The Royals now ride a five-game win streak into the postseason.
