SARNIA, ON - The Redeemer Royals picked up a convincing 4–1 road victory over the Lambton Lions on Saturday, September 12.
Lambton opened the scoring in the first few minutes of the match, finding the back of the net off a corner kick. Redeemer remained composed despite the early deficit, settling into the match and controlling play in the minutes that followed.
The Royals eventually found their equalizer through Leandro Alves. Following a free kick, Alves found the back of the net after a header from a Royals teammate to bring the match level.
Redeemer carried its momentum into the second half, continuing to control the play and create opportunities. Redeemer's Mateo Mihalj found the go-ahead goal shortly into the second half. JungYoon Park added to the Royals' lead with a free kick goal.
The Royals continued to press as the half progressed. Redeemer added one more late in the match, completing the 4–1 victory over the Lions.
The Royals' strong second half performance secured the road win and gave Redeemer another positive result early in the season.
Redeemer is back on the pitch this Thursday when the play host to the reigning national champions, Humber Hawks.
