As Director of Men's Volleyball, Ed Bosveld is responsible to lead the program at a strategic level. He oversees recruiting efforts, long-term planning, and the operational framework of the volleyball program as well as providing support to the coaching staff.Â
Bosveld is a Redeemer alumnus and has served the university as Vice-President, Administration and Finance and as Special Advisor to the President. He has taught Law and Public Policy in the Politics and International Studies program as well as Fundamentals of Volleyball in the Kinesiology program. He was the 2016 recipient of Redeemer's Distinguished Alumni Award.
Bosveld has coached volleyball for over 30 years, including teams at the school, club, and post-secondary level. He is a founder of the Ancaster Lions Volleyball Club, where he coaches 18U boys, and has also coached for the Chatham Ballhawks and various secondary school programs. He has served as a Team Ontario selection coach, as a volleyball clinician, a referee, and a coach evaluator and mentor, and received the OVA Recognition Award in 2023. Prior to his appointment as Director of Men's Volleyball at Redeemer, Bosveld served as recruiting coach for the Truett McConnell University in Georgia, USA, helping the Bears go from a winless program to a contender in the Appalachian Athletic Conference in only a few years. He has also served as assistant coach and recruiter for the Redeemer women's volleyball team.Â
Bosveld holds an honours B.A. from Redeemer University, an M.B.A. from the University of Windsor, and a professional certificate in Municipal Administration. He has extensive volleyball coaching education and is a trained Community Coach, certified Development Coach (indoor/beach), trained Advanced Development Coach (beach), certified Advanced Development Coach (indoor), and is in training as a Performance Coach (indoor.) He is also a certified referee.
