Kate Grasman

Kate Grasman enters her second season as head coach of the Royals women’s volleyball team. In her first year at the helm, Kate and her staff helped guide the team to an 8-10 regular season record and a quarterfinal appearance, the first since 2021 for the Royals women’s volleyball team.

Grasman brings a diverse coaching background to the Royals, including her work with Athletes in Action, where she helped develop a volleyball program for young volleyball athletes in Mauritius. She has spent several years coaching at high-level club camps alongside high-level coaches, as well as coaching for Athletes in Action in British Columbia in 2021.

Before joining the Royals, Grasman played four seasons with the TMU Bold (formerly Ryerson), earning both a USports and OUA silver medal in 2019. After her time with the Bold, Grasman played one season in the 2. Bundesliga Nord in Vechta, Germany, where her team found success and ultimately won the league title in 2023.

Kate holds an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Studies from TMU, where she was recognized as a four-time Academic All-Canadian for her excellence in both academics and athletics.
