It's the 2nd week into the Fall semester and the Soccer teams have now already completed almost 1/3 of their regular season. They were not the only team in action this past week however as the Cross Country opened their season on the road at Fanshawe College.
Women's Soccer (OCAA 1-2)
The Lady Royals certainly owned the highlight of the week as the team rebounded from a brutal loss on Wednesday evening against the Fanshawe Falcons with a big win on Saturday against the Lambton Lions. The Royals hit the road for their first away match and defeated the home team 2-1.

Serena Dejong had the goals for Redeemer.
The Royals proved on Saturday they have the mental fortitude to rebound after tough losses, losing Wednesday night 10-0 to Fanshawe.
Next up for the Royals is a home date Thursday evening at 5pm against the Conestoga Condors.
Men's Soccer (OCAA 1-2)
After starting the season with a big win against St. Clair College, the men's soccer team lost back-to-back matches this past week. The Royals played a tight match on Wednesday night against the Fanshawe Falcons, losing 2-1 to a very strong visiting squad. Jonathan Pereboom had the goal for Redeemer off of a free kick late in the 2nd half.Â
On Saturday, the Royals traveled to Lambton College for their first away match of the season. Redeemer was on the disappointing end of a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Lions. The men gave up two early goals in the first half and were unable to recover after that.Â
Redeemer will be back home on Thursday evening at 7pm in a home matchup against the Conestoga Condors from Kitchener, ON.Â
Cross Country
1st year Head Coach Julie Klomps took her Cross Country team out on the road this past Saturday for their first Invitational of the season. The Royals traveled to Fanshawe College to compete at the Fanshawe Conservation Area in London, ON.
A total of 13 runners covered the course for the Royals with Adrianna So (21:43) posting the top time for the women in the 5km and Kyle Maerz (30:46) posting the top time for the men in the 8km.
The women's team finished in 6th position overall with a team score of 115 (only 5 places out of 5th) while the men's team settled in 14th place with a team score of 200 points.Â
Maerz came across the line for Redeemer in 25th place while Aaron Hesman finished in 57th. For the women, Adrianna So and Rachel Hoekstra both cracked the top 25 with 21st and 25th place finishes respectively.Â
The Royals are back out on the road on October 1st when they travel to the Waterloo Open.Â
