The Redeemer Royals volleyball teams put together four wins over two days this past weekend on their Northern trip to Sudbury. The Royals traveled to Cambrian College Friday night to battle the Golden Shield before taking on the Boreal Vipers Saturday afternoon.
Both Women's and Men's teams improved their records with a pair of 3-0 sweeps against both opponents.
Redeemer's Women's team moved to 3-3 on the season with the strong showing on the weekend while the Men's team stayed hot, moving to 5-1 with their pair of victories.
Jasmyn Stoffers paced the Royals in Friday's match, recording a game-high 18 points. Set scores were 25-18, 25-19, 25-22 in the win. Saturday saw
Alena Reenders do most of the damage for the visitors, recording 9 total points.
Kristina Renwick added 5 blocks. The set scores on Saturday were 25-16, 25-18, and 28-26.
Helping the Men's team stay hot was Redeemer's William Winkelhorst. The 2nd year Outside Hitter recorded 8 points Saturday against Boreal and 13 points Friday night against Cambrian. Both totals were game high's for Redeemer.
Redeemer will now look towards their home date Friday night against the Niagara Knights. Niagara's women's team enters with a 4-2 record, tied for 3rd place in the OCAA West. The Men's team, winners of three in a row, come to Redeemer with a 5-1 record, tied for 2nd in the OCAA West.
First serve Friday night is at 6pm.
