NORTH BAY, ON - The Redeemer University men's basketball team defeated the Canadore Panthers by the score of 91–82 Friday night on the road.
The Royals trailed 50-44 at the half.
To open the third quarter, the Royals put together an 11-4 run to take a 55–54 lead with 5:57 left in the quarter. With the score tied 65–65 with less than a minute left in the third, first year Parker Davis (Hamilton, ON) knocked down back-to-back shots to take a 70–65 lead after 30 minutes.
In the opening, three minutes of the fourth quarter, Redeemer went on and 11-4 run to go up by many as 12 points 81-69, on route to their second conference victory.
The Royals had three players in double figures led by fourth year Isaiah Brinkley (Rochester, NY) who recorded 22 points, including 4-for-9 from beyond the arc. Davis contributed with 18 points and eight rebounds while second year Robert Mannella (Burlington, ON) added 11 points. Third year Will Dykstra (Surrey, BC) also chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.
Canadore was led by Moses Orange who registered 22 points and eight rebounds.
Redeemer shot 46.3% from the field going 37-for-80, including 8-for-29 from long range. Canadore shot 45.8% (33-for-72) from the field.
The Royals return to action Saturday night at 7pm when they take on the Humber Hawks on the road.
