Ancaster, ON – The Redeemer University men's volleyball team (8-5 OCAA West) defeated the Boreal Vipers by the score of 3-0 (27-25, 25-22, 25-17) Saturday afternoon at the Redeemer Athletic Centre.
Leading the Royals offense was second year
Ben Siebenga (Belleville, ON) who had a career game, registering 10 kills and setting a new Redeemer single game serve aces record with 10 surpassing Dave Berghout (9) Dec. 7, 2005 and
Jason Wildeboer (9) Jan. 11, 2020. He also added five digs and two blocks.
Second year
Murray Greydanus (Gowanstown, ON) registered eight kills on 11 attempts with one error for a .636 hitting percentage. He also added five blocks and three aces. Second year setter
Jared Prinsloo (Burnaby, BC) added 24 assists in the victory.
Boreal was led by Alexandre Leger, who recorded nine kills in the loss.
For the match, the Royals had a .234 hitting efficiency adding 33 kills with 18 errors on 64 attempts. Boreal finished with 18 kills and 24 errors on 58 attempts for a -.121 hitting percentage.
The Royals next action is January 27 & 28 when they are on the road against the St. Clair Saints and Fanshawe Falcons.
