Redeemer men's basketball drops 77-65 decision to Humber

ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer University men's basketball team dropped a 77-65 decision to the Humber Hawks Saturday afternoon at the Redeemer Athletic Centre.

Humber held a one point lead after one quarter, 23-22, and a six-point lead 41-35 at the half, closing out the second quarter on a 6-0 run.

Midway through the third quarter, Redeemer brought it to within seven points (50-43), before Humber answered with a 16-7 run to go up by as many as 16, 66-50 late in the third quarter. In the final frame, the Royals made it 70-63 with under three minutes left on the clock, after a clutch 3-pointer from fourth year Isaiah Brinkley (Rochester, NY). The Hawks knocked down 5-of-6 frees throws to secure the road victory.

Leading the Royals was third year Will Dykstra (Surrey, BC) who recorded 13 points going 4-for-6 from the floor. Brinkley finished with 12 points while Armeen Fazelipour (Richmond Hill, ON) added nine points and seven rebounds in the loss.

The Hawks had three players record double digits led by Dwayne Lambert-Cadore who recorded 19 points and seven assist for the road victory. .

For the game, the Royals shot 29.3% (24-82) from the field, 18.2% (6-33) from three-point land and 84.6% (11-13) from the free throw line. Humber went 28-56 (50.0%) from the field, 5-15 (33.3%) from long range and 16-19 84.2% from the charity stripe.
