LONDON, ON - The Redeemer University men's volleyball team dropped a four set decision to the Fanshawe Falcons Wednesday night on the road.
After taking the first set by the score of 28-26, the top seeded Falcons answered with three straight wins by scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-18.
For the Royals, first year
Simon Bourne registered 12 kills and four blocks to lead the way. Third year
Derick Breukelman and first year
Jonah Heidburt both collected nine kills each. Third year setter
Andrew Van Dyke finished with 35 assists while libero Carson Grim added 12 digs in the loss.
Fanshawe's Tanner Patterson and Zack Admans combined for 37 kills with Patterson adding 20 and Admans finishing with 17. Matt Stechnicki handed out 33 assists while libero Najeem Javeed collected 20 digs in the victory.
For the match, Redeemer hit just .171 adding 41 kills with 20 errors on 123 attempts. Fanshawe hit an impressive .368 as a team adding 62 kills with 16 errors on 125 attempts
The Royals return to action Thursday night when they take on the St. Clair Saints in an OCAA West matchup.
