KICHENER, ON - The Redeemer University men's volleyball team recorded their 10th win of the season as they defeated the Conestoga Condors by the score of 3-1 on the road Saturday afternoon.
Leading the Royals offense for the third straight game was first year Derek Breukelman (Burlington, ON) who finished with 17 kills, three blocks and two aces. Third year Brett Jenkins (Peterborough, ON) registered 11 kills and two aces while fourth year William Winklehorst (Newcastle, ON) added six kills and five digs. Second year setter Andrew Van Dyke (Guelph, ON) handed out 41 assists while second year libero Carsen Grim (Langley, BC) added eight digs in the victory.
With his 11 kill performance, Jenkins moves into third in single season leaders with 220 kills, surpassing Eric Heidbuurt (212) and Brayden Stoffers (216). He also moves into third in Redeemer single season points with 290, surpassing Brayden Stoffers (283).
Leading Conestoga was Walker Kalin who registered a match high 18 kills.
For the match, the Royals hit .337, registering 43 kills and 11 errors on 95 attempts. The Condors finished with a .160 hitting percentage adding 43 kills and 26 errors on 106 attempts.
The Royals close out the OCAA regular season on the road February 8th when they take on the Humber Hawks.
