ANCASTER, ON - The No.13 Nationally ranked Redeemer University women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against the visiting St. Clair College Saints Friday night on home turf.
The Royals opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when second year
Emily Walraven buried a shot into the top right hand corner from 28 yards out with third year
Ivana Kanisek adding the assist. For Walraven, it was her team leading third goal of the regular season.
St Clair evened the game up in the 49th minute on a goal from Alessia Olivito. Redeemer took a 2-1 lead in the 66th minute when third year
Esther DeHaan set up second year
Kendra Sieders for her second goal of the season. In the 78th minute, St. Clair tied the game 2-2 on a goal from Brianna Kingsley - Clough.
The Royals outshot the Saints wby an 18-8 margin, including 12-6 on goal. Royals fifth year starter
Lilly Brown recorded four saves improving her regular season record to 2-0-3. St. Clair goalkeeper Scotlyn Fick collected 10 saves in the tie.
The Royals next action is September 27th vs Mohawk Mountaineers at Tim Hortons Field.
