BROCKPORT, NY - The Redeemer Royals hockey team hit the road for a rematch against Brockport, looking to bounce back after a tough result in their season opener against the same squad. This time, the Royals showed their growth and determination, pushing Brockport to the final whistle in a competitive 3–2 loss.
Brockport opened the scoring early in the first period, but Redeemer responded late in the frame when
Tucker Copeland found the back of the net for his first goal of the season, assisted by
Hayden Fernhout.
Brockport regained the lead in the second period and added another in the third to make it 3–1. The Royals continued to battle, and their persistence paid off late in the game when
Dawson Abrahams buried a goal off assists from
Hayden Fernhout and
Asher Cabral. Despite a strong push in the final minutes, the comeback fell just short.
While the Royals couldn't secure the win, the close scoreline marked a much-improved performance from their season opener, as they continue to build momentum early in the season.
