BUFFALO, NY - The Redeemer Royals men's hockey team (0–2) hit the ice Saturday against Canisius, looking to rebound and pick up their first win of the season. Despite a strong effort, the Royals came up short, falling 3–1.
Canisius opened the scoring midway through the first period to take an early lead. The Royals responded in the second, as
Dawson Abrahams netted his second goal of the season with assists from
Adam Beatty and
Ethan Smith, bringing the game level at one apiece.
Canisius regained the lead early in the third and added an insurance marker late to seal the victory. With the loss, Redeemer moves to 0–3 on the season.
The Royals now turn their attention to a big weekend ahead, a back-to-back matchup with Niagara University. Redeemer will travel to Niagara, NY, for a late Friday night game against Niagara's ACHA Division II team before returning home Saturday to host Niagara's AAU Division II squad.
