ANCASTER, ON - Redeemer University's
Jared Prinsloo has been named an OCAA Athlete of the Week following an outstanding performance to open the 2025–26 men's volleyball season.
The fifth-year outside hitter was a driving force in the Royals' home opener, leading the team to a 3–0 sweep over the Sheridan Bruins. Prinsloo posted a game-high 12 points, highlighted by an impressive five service aces, many coming at crucial moments that kept Sheridan on their heels. He also recorded seven kills while hitting an efficient .385, setting the tone for the Royals' first victory of the season.
In Redeemer's second match, a narrow five-set loss, Prinsloo continued his strong play with a team-high 11 kills and an exceptional .455 hitting percentage. His consistency and leadership were evident throughout both matches, anchoring the Royals' offense in back-to-back standout performances.
Prinsloo and the Royals now turn their attention to a tough road matchup against the five-time defending OCAA Champions Humber Hawks this Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
