Talia Vreugdenhil has been named the NCCAA Division I Women's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week after a record-setting performance.
The fourth-year forward made program history by pulling down 22 rebounds in a single game, the most ever recorded by a Royals women's basketball player. Vreugdenhil's dominant effort on the glass was paired with 10 points, earning her second double-double of the season. Her energy and presence in the paint were key to the Royals' performance last week. The star forward currently leads the OCAA in rebounds (37) and rebounds per game (18.5).
Vreugdenhil and the Royals now turn their focus to Thursday, when they travel to Windsor to take on the St. Clair Saints.
