Royals Shut Down by Condors

ANCASTER, ON - Redeemer Royals women's volleyball (3-1) welcomed the Conestoga Condors (4-2) to the Redeemer Athletic Centre Saturday afternoon. Entering Saturday's contest, the Condors are ranked fifth in the OCAA, with the Royals trailing closely behind in seventh.

The afternoon battle was the first test for the Royals against a top-five-ranked team this season. Leading the way for the Condors has been Bianca Marchetti. The Condor star was the primary option the Royals needed to shut down. Entering Saturday's match, Marchetti sat second in the league in kills (77).

Redeemer fell 3–0 to the Conestoga Condors, facing a strong and consistent opponent throughout the match. The Royals struggled with attacking efficiency in the opening set but managed to settle in and improve their offensive rhythm in sets two and three. Despite the adjustments, Conestoga's steady play proved too much to overcome.

The Condors were led by standout performances from Marchetti, who finished with 15 points and a .364 hitting percentage, and middle Madison Welmers, who added 10 points while hitting an impressive .389.

Redeemer's top performer on the night was middle Joelle Lammers, who delivered an efficient showing with 7 kills, 0 errors, and a .467 hitting percentage. Setter Alana Dejong also turned in another strong outing, recording 27 assists across the three sets and helping stabilize the attack as the match progressed.

The Royals are back in action this Thursday as they host another top OCAA opponent, the Niagara Knights, at Redeemer.
