Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Hawks Defend the Nest Against Royals 3-1

ETOBICOKE, ON - The Redeemer Royals men's volleyball team hit the road to face the five-time defending OCAA champion Humber Hawks on Friday night. Despite a strong showing, the Royals fell in four sets (18-25, 19-25, 25-22, 18-25).

After dropping the first two sets, the Royals showed resilience, battling back to claim the third 25-22 before ultimately falling in the fourth. Head Coach Wes Schilstra's new play style is starting to take shape, with Redeemer showing greater control and consistency from the service line. The Royals committed just 13 service errors, 10 fewer than Humber.

Middle Jack Demik stood out for the Royals, hitting an impressive .429 on seven attempts. He also added four blocks, making his presence felt on both sides of the net.

The Royals now look ahead to Wednesday night when they'll host the Mohawk Mountaineers at the Redeemer Athletic Centre, aiming to even the season series after a tight five-set loss in their last meeting. Wednesday's match will also serve as Hammer Hunger Night, where the Royals will collect non-perishable food items at the ticket table. Spectators can enjoy free general admission with a donation of two items, or receive free courtside tickets with a donation of five, while seats last.
