Colton Knox Joins Royals Hockey for the 2025-2026 Season

ANCASTER, ON – Royals Hockey proudly announces the signing of their fifth recruit for the 2025-2026 season. Hailing from Carberry, Manitoba, the out-of-province talent Colton Knox will join the Redeemer Royals, the reigning UNYCHL Division Two Metro Division Champions. Knox makes the move from the Parkland Rangers U18 AAA team, bringing both strong defensive skills and a heart for a faith-driven community.

When asked what excites him most about joining the Royals, Knox shared, "Definitely the Christian culture in the hockey dressing room and having a group of guys I can share my faith with as well as help each other grow closer to Christ. I believe playing on the Redeemer Royals is going to be exactly what I need."

He continued by adding, "This will be a growing year for me as I have never experienced a Christian environment with kids my age. My family and I attend church whenever and wherever we are able; however, because of my hockey schedule, I have never been able to be involved in youth groups or have any Christian friends in the small community I've lived in because there aren't any. I feel my faith will be strengthened in a way I want to experience in my life, and I am so excited to see how God will use and direct me this year in my next step of life."

Redeemer's coaching staff is equally enthusiastic about Knox's arrival. Assistant Coach Isaiah Thornback shared, "Colton is an elite skater and a shutdown defenseman. He will no doubt make an immediate impact on the ice. We are excited to see him experience a Christ-centred locker room, something he has shared that he has missed out on growing up in the AAA system in Manitoba. Colton embodies the calibre, on and off the ice, of the future of Redeemer's Men's Hockey Program."

With his talent, faith, and commitment to growth, Knox is set to be a key addition to the Royals' roster and community as the team prepares for another competitive season. Colton and the Royals await their 2025-2026 season schedule to be announced later this year.
