ANCASTER, ON - The Redeemer Royals Men's Volleyball program is excited to announce the commitment of Jordan Wright, an Outside Hitter from Welland, Ontario.

A soon-to-be graduate of Welland Centennial Secondary School, Wright brings a diverse and resilient athletic background to Redeemer. He competed with the Niagara Rapids organization for four seasons, beginning in 2020 with the Niagara Rapids Alliance before earning selection to Team Ontario Red in 2022. After stepping away from volleyball for two years to compete in hockey with the Niagara North Stars, Wright returned to the court in 2024 with the 18U Niagara Rapids Fire, and made an immediate impact.

In the 2024–25 season, Wright was named his team's Most Improved Player, a testament to both his work ethic and commitment to growth. At the high school level, he was a key contributor for Welland Centennial, serving as team captain in two of his four seasons and helping lead his squad to multiple tournament victories.

For Wright, the decision to join Redeemer was about more than volleyball.

"One of the things that excites me the most about being a part of the Royal Family at Redeemer University is the strong sense of community," Wright shared. "I'm looking forward to building meaningful relationships with my teammates, coaches, and other students while working toward a common goal."

He is especially eager to compete while representing a university that values both athletics and faith. Wright looks forward to developing as a player while contributing to a culture built on accountability, encouragement, and unity.

Faith plays a central role in Wright's life and will guide his journey as a Royal. He strives to demonstrate humility, perseverance, and respect both on and off the court. Whether in competition, in the classroom, or around campus, Wright aims to be a steady and positive presence, encouraging teammates, maintaining strong sportsmanship, and representing his values with integrity.

"My goal is to grow as an athlete and as a man of God, while encouraging others and representing Redeemer in a positive way," he said.

The Royals are thrilled to welcome Jordan to the program and look forward having him in the gym this fall.
