Royals Back to Work after Holiday Break

Royals get 2014 underway this weekend


After a busy holiday break, the Redeemer Royals return to league play this weekend in their first match ups of 2014. Basketball, Volleyball, and Badminton are all in action while the Redeemer Indoor Soccer teams remain busy with their early season preparations.

Redeemer's Basketball teams open up 2014 on the road on Friday and Saturday. Redeemer travels to Sheridan College on Friday for a tilt against the high-powered offense of the Bruins. The Lady Royals take the court at 6pm with the men following at 8pm.

On Saturday, both teams head to Niagara to battle the Knights in an exciting matinee. Game times are 1:30pm and 3:30pm.

The Redeemer Royals Volleyball teams travel to St. Clair College for their lone game of the weekend against the Saints. Both Volleyball teams open up 2014 after a busy Christmas Break.

The Redeemer Royals Women's Volleyball team played some very tough competition in Florida, finishing with a 0-4 record against McMaster University, Humber College, University of Moncton, and the University of New Brunswick.

The Men's team will have to be ready to go on Saturday after a week stuck in Seattle. The Royals spent part of their Christmas break training in British Columbia as well as playing exhibition games out West and were scheduled to fly out of Seattle on Sunday. However, delays across the Country have kept the Men's team out West until their new scheduled flight on Thursday.

The Redeemer Royals Badminton team will get their first competition of 2014 when they travel to Toronto for the Centennial College Badminton Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The Royals will look to continue their early season success as they prepare for the OCAA West Regional Championships set for February 7th.
