ANCASTER, ON - Men's Soccer Head Coach
Matt Hahn continues to build his program, adding their eighth recruit of the offseason. Georgiy Gavalov, a central attacking midfielder, is the newest addition to the Royals roster. Gavalov comes from Murdoch MacKay Collegiate and the Valour FC Junior program in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His notable achievements include securing 3rd place at the MSA nationals and winning the Calgary Cup.
The talented Midfielder looks to add his offensive talents to the promising Royals side. When asked about what excites him most about joining the Royals, Gavalov said, "Getting closer to God and meeting all the players on the team." Georgiy is an excellent fit for the Royals Men's Soccer program as he is not only an exceptional athlete, but also a spiritual fit for the university.Â
Hahn had this to share about the incoming recruit, "Georgiy is an exceptional talent, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the Royals roster. As an attacking player, he is versatile and capable of performing effectively across the forward line, though his skills are particularly well-suited to the number 10 position. Georgiy excels in creating scoring opportunities with his quick, one-touch play, and he is equally adept at finishing chances himself. His proficiency in long-range shooting and set-piece execution further adds to his attacking value. We are eagerly anticipating the impact Georgiy will have this fall in Royals red and navy."
Royals fans will want to keep an eye out for Gavalov and the seven other incoming faces on the pitch this season. Â
